Privacy Policy
The short version: Beat Bench does not collect any data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you log stays on your iPhone or iPad, and the app makes no network requests.
What the app stores, and where
Beat Bench is a logbook for the clocks on your bench. What you enter is saved only in the app's private storage on your device:

We (the developer) never receive any of this. None of it is sold, shared or used for advertising.
Microphone
When you press Listen on the beat meter, the app uses the microphone to hear your clock's tick and tock. The sound is analysed in memory, moment by moment, to find the timing of each tick. It is never recorded, saved to a file or sent anywhere. The microphone is only used while the meter is listening, and you can turn access off at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Camera and photo library
The camera and your photo library are used only when you choose to attach a photo of a movement or a repair. Only the photo you pick or take is copied into the app. Beat Bench does not browse or upload your library.
Notifications
If you turn on a reminder (for example, an oiling point that is due, or the next rate reading), Beat Bench schedules a local notification on your device. Permission is asked at that moment. No push service or server is involved.
Exports
If you choose to export a rate log (CSV), a clock report image or a backup (JSON), the file is handed to the iOS share sheet and goes only where you send it.
Links to websites
Handbook articles and supplier entries may link to outside websites. Beat Bench always asks before opening one in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy practices.
Children
Beat Bench is a general hobby tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Use Settings › Reset all data inside the app, or delete the app, and everything it stored is removed from your device.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. Rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR and Canadian and US privacy laws are respected by design: your data never leaves your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
